MY 3 MISTAKES

Indeed its been my 3 mistakes for judging a book by its cover and believing
in the hype surrounding the author Chetan Bhagat and spending100 bucks
to buy it. All I started with a great expectation fuelled by his previous
take Five Point Someone, gradually turned into ashes.
The story supposedly woven around cricket, religion and business does not
leave any impact on reader. Maybe the cricket fanatics find it good coz of
some quiz on cricket being brought out. Clearly no homework is done on
the other two topics. It shows how desperately the author wants to
interwine all these in a single plot. How desperately he wants to bring in
humour and successfully fails in it. And how despearately used real things
like earthquake, hindu-muslim riots to add to reality. Boy! its a straight lift
from our bollywood masala movies of 90's where you will get every of these
things mixed. And trust me its a boon not buying it.

IMS Quotient kicks...

IMS Quotient touted to be the largest UG quiz indeed had us jinxed
whole day.It was conducted at the beautiful JNMC Belgaum campus
on sunday.IMS had specially arranged a bus to the destination for our
convenience  and i must thank for whole lotta masti it brought during
our 2 hour journey.The bus set off at 8.55 though we were asked to be
present at 7.45 IST in that cold morning.After reaching we scanned thru the
campus,the popular JNMC girls'beauty and not to mention the cute
male doctors.The quiz was supposed to be started at 12.30 but as per our
IST(Indian Standard Time)it started at 2.00 and the excuse announced
was that the security personnels had some technical problem!!
(Never mind.We were happy we could do some last minute
browsing through qs)As they put it it was a huge turn out of
contestants infact the biggest in the country.It had a qualifying round
of 21 questions including audios.The questions were pretty much
interesting since we couldn pull the right switches on time.Not to mention 
we dint get selected.After 1 hour of correction the quiz started with a
bang.And the questions were just superb varying from current affairs,
authors,science,an enchanting visual round,audios on rockbands,movies.
It was one good quizzing show i witnessed and must say atta ims guys!
And finally the JNMC guys won the quiz,
we paid a huge applause and nikal pade..

Fierano

Who has the comibination of tremendous power and awesome looks
in the world?
No! Its ain't Arnold Schwazzenagar or Laila Ali.
Its Ferrari's Fierano 599.

Ferrari-the name itself makes one's adrenaline pumping.The founder
of this most trusted company in the world was Enzo Ferrari.
Every Italian dreams of working in it.N every Ferrari worker feels
proud of himself to work in this most popular car making company.

While designing Fierano,there were two criteria to be satisfied.One that,
it could be used as a race car with the most powerful engine,
suitable on race tracks and two,that it could be used as a street car as well.
The V-12 engine is made of Al alloy(which is light but is very strong
metal) and has 619HP.It weighs 230 kg and the casting is a very
crucial step in giving the car,speed of 300km.
At this speed it's very important to keep the car on the ground.
The aerodynamics of this car is made such that it produces negative
lift from down which makes the car stick on ground(called down force).
The body is streamlined to make it move easily through
winds.To withstand the sudden shifts in gears the shock absorbers
are made with magnetic fluid(commonly,oil is used).Robots are
used for most of the assembling part and for painting the body.
Strong X-rays are used to detect minute cracks, which could
possibly produce high vibrations at such speed.This car has
to undergo some 60 various tests to be put the Ferrari logo on it.
Ferrari comes in 12 colors but Fierano can be ordered for any color
of choice. Price..?Well its just 2 lakh euros. And i think this is one
helluva of blogging.Because Fierano cant be described in just few 
words.A verbal god and great automobile engineer could have been
of great help.

Radicalness of awarding..

The government this time has conferred Padmashree's to the patrons
in their respective field.Hats off to all the awardees and kudos
to the Indian government for their judgement.But one thing I dont
understand is why one is awarded posthumously.How would one know
that he has been awarded or given nationwide recognition for his
service after he is dead.Awards are given as an encouragement,
for an outstanding contribution.What's the point in giving after
death,his name will just be printed in the pages of history
without the person's knowledgethat he has done something
great.If the ministry is awarding posthumously then why not
Rani Laksmibhai,Bhagat singh,etcetra?Gandhiji was not awarded
Bharat Ratna.I think the idea of posthumous is quiet radical.
When alive we debate such that it becomes a newsheadline.
When dead,chalo forget all debate and award the dead person.

The simpler the better...

Often people get carried away by phrase mongering.They use bombastic 

words to impress people. But few wise men know the power of simple
words.

An excerpt on how a simple thing can be made highly complicated.

Three art critics analysing a painting:

Art Critic 1: "I think the neo plasticism of the abstract design proves the
mystical, metaphysical and non-humanistic approach to the objective
concept of abstraction".

Art Critic 3: "I fully agree with you both...it's a rubbishy painting!".

Stars on land...

It was worth waiting for an year to watch a sensible movie in theatre.
Taare zameen par,an awesome movie per se,has done good not only at the
box office but also in the hearts of parents.Special mention to
Darsheel Safari for his amazing acting skills.And be sure to carry
buckets to store those precious tears while watching the movie.
